    Jeev Milkha Singh enjoys a strong start at the Irish Open

    Jeev Milkha Singh of India birdied the last hole to get off to a strong start at the Irish Open after shooting a three-under-68 on Thursday.

    The two-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner turned in 36 before breathing life to his campaign with four birdies against one bogey on his way home to trail the leader Mikko Ilonen of Finland by four shots. Jeev is currently in tied ninth.

    India’s Shiv Kapur (73-70-71) put up another spirited performance at the US Open by signing a card of one-over-71 in the third round on Saturday. Shiv mixed his card with six bogeys and five birdies to take his three-day total to four-over-214.
