  Jay Pandya shoots red-hot 63 to top Pre-Qualifying I, 22 players qualify for Final Stage

  Ahmedabad golfer Jay Pandya shot a red-hot eight-under 63 in round two to total 10-under 132 and thus finish on top at Pre-Qualifying I of the TATA Steel PGTI Qualifying School 2024 being played at the Golmuri Golf Course in Jamshedpur.

  From a total field of 122 in Pre-Qualifying I, the top 22 players qualified for the Final Qualifying Stage as the cut was declared at one-under 141.

  Twenty-five-year-old Jay Pandya (69-63), who was overnight tied 14th and four off the lead at the start of round two, fired an outstanding 63 to finish two shots clear of the rest of the field. Jay, who turned pro in 2020, struck it close to the pins through the day...

  Zubin Nijhawan leads after day one of Pre-Qualifying I

  Zubin Nijhawan of Panchkula shot a six-under 65 to take the clubhouse lead on day one of the Pre-Qualifying I of the TATA Steel PGTI Qualifying School 2024 being played at the Golmuri Golf Course in Jamshedpur.

  Nijhawan produced four birdies on the front-nine including three on the trot before adding two more on the back-nine as his card did not have a single blemish.

  The quartet of Akram Ali Mollah, Yash Majmudar, Gurbaaz Mann and SK Mohin were tied for second place with scores of 66.

  Amateur Rohit Boken was placed sixth at 67.

  TATA Steel PGTI Qualifying School 2024 tees off from January 25 in Jamshedpur

  The TATA Steel PGTI Qualifying School 2024 will be played from January 25 to February 9, 2024, at the Golmuri Golf Course in Jamshedpur.

  While the First Stage consisting of three Pre-Qualifying events of 36 holes each will be held from January 25 – February 3, the Final Stage, a 72-hole event, will be held from February 6 – 9.

  The Qualifying School, which kickstarts each PGTI season, is one of the most important events on the PGTI calendar as it is the only route for players to qualify to play on the PGTI in a particular season. The tournament determines the criteria for players for the whole season.
