Shubham Jaglan produced a superb final-round six-under 64 to claim his maiden professional title by two shots at the second edition of the INR 1 crore Coal India Open at Tollygunge Club.
The 21-year-old from Panipat, Haryana, posted rounds of 67, 65 and 64 to finish the weather-shortened tournament at 14-under 196.
Jaglan, who is attached with the DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurugram, earned the winner’s cheque of INR 15 lakh and climbed 12 places from 26th to 14th in the DP World PGTI Rankings. His season’s earnings increased to INR 26,99,875.

Jamal Hossain carded a seven-under 63 to take a two-shot lead following the completion of the rain-delayed second round of the Coal India Open at Tollygunge Club in Kolkata on Thursday.
The 41-year-old Bangladeshi golfer (65-63), a six-time winner on the DP World PGTI, moved to 12-under 128 after an eventful round featuring seven birdies, an eagle and two bogeys.
Hossain began his second round three shots behind first-round leader Om Prakash Chouhan and was tied fifth when heavy rain forced the suspension of play on Wednesday. He returned on Thursday to complete his remaining holes when he moved clear of the field.

Kshitij Naveed Kaul carded a four-under 66 to take a one-shot clubhouse lead before heavy rain forced the suspension of the second round of the Coal India Open at Tollygunge Club in Kolkata on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old Delhi golfer (64-66), who began the day two shots off the lead, made five birdies and a lone bogey to move to 10-under 130. Nearly half the 132-player field was yet to complete the second round when a downpour halted play at 1 pm local time on Wednesday.
Due to the heavy rain and the resulting wet conditions on the course, round two was officially suspended at 3:45 pm local time on Wednesday. Round two will now resume at 7 am local time on Thursday.

Om Prakash Chouhan fired an eight-under 62 to take the opening-round lead at the second edition of the INR 1 crore Coal India Open at Tollygunge Club in Kolkata.
The 40-year-old golfer from Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, put together an eventful round featuring a hole-in-one on the par-three eighth and an eagle on the par-five 13th. He also made six birdies and two bogeys to establish a one-shot lead.
