  Ajeetesh Sandhu opens two-shot lead at Chennai Open 2026 Powered by CPCL

  Ajeetesh Sandhu fired a six-under 66 to open a two-shot lead after the second round of the INR 1 crore Chennai Open 2026 Powered by Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course.

  The 37-year-old from Chandigarh (65-66), who began the day sharing the lead, made eight birdies against two bogeys to reach 13-under 131 at the halfway stage.

  Sandhu, a five-time winner on the DP World PGTI and a former Asian Tour champion, moved two strokes clear of overnight co-leader Stepan Danek.

  The 29-year-old Czech Republic golfer (65-68) made six birdies and two bogeys in a four-under 68 to take sole possession of second place at 11-under 133. Read More

  Ajeetesh Sandhu and Stepan Danek opened with matching seven-under 65s to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the INR 1 crore Chennai Open 2026 Powered by Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course.

  Sandhu, a 37-year-old former Asian Tour winner from Chandigarh, made eight birdies against a solitary bogey on the par-four 12th.

  Czech Republic’s 29-year-old Danek joined Sandhu at the top with a flawless round containing seven birdies. He is currently playing his third season on the DP World PGTI.

  Chennai Open 2026 Powered by CPCL begins on September 8 at TNGF Cosmo Golf Course

  The DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (DP World PGTI) will be staging the Chennai Open 2026 Powered by Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai from September 8 – 11, 2026. The event carries a prize purse of INR 1 crore.
