Khalin Joshi’s flawless final round of four-under 68 helped him come out on top at the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship 2022 presented by KGiSL on Saturday.
Bengaluru-based Khalin, who was placed second and one shot off the lead after round three, set a new record for the lowest winning total at the Coimbatore Golf Club with his 14-under 274 aggregate for the week at the Rs. 50 lakh event. It was 30-year-old Joshi’s seventh professional win and sixth victory on the PGTI. He took home a prize money cheque worth Rs. 7,50,000 that lifted him from 35th to 10th position on the PGTI Order of Merit.

Greater Noida’s Arjun Sharma fired a determined three-under 69 in round three to move into the sole lead at 11-under 205 at the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship 2022 presented by KGiSL, a Rs. 50 lakh event, being played at the Coimbatore Golf Club.
Arjun, the overnight joint leader and a winner on the PGTI Feeder Tour in the past, kept alive hopes of his maiden title on the PGTI as a result of his one-shot advantage on the penultimate day.
Khalin Joshi of Bengaluru, a winner on the Asian Tour and former PGTI Order of Merit champion, also shot a 69 on day three to rise one spot to second position and be on the leader’s tail at 10-under 206.

The experienced Shamim Khan of Delhi and Greater Noida’s Arjun Sharma brought in cards of three-under 69 to move into the joint lead at a total of eight-under 136 after round two of the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship 2022 presented by KGiSL, a Rs. 50 lakh event, being played at the Coimbatore Golf Club.
Bengaluru’s Khalin Joshi produced a 68 on Thursday to be placed second at seven-under 137.
M Dharma, another Bengalurean, was tied fifth at five-under 139 after he matched the course record with a 65. Dharma’s city-mate Akshay Neranjen (70), who is making his pro debut this week, was also tied for fifth.

The TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship 2022 presented by KGiSL will be played from August 17 – 20 at the Coimbatore Golf Club. The tournament carries a prize purse of Rs. 50 lakh and marks the Professional Golf Tour of India’s (PGTI) return to Coimbatore after eight years. The Pro-Am event will be staged on August 21.
