The resumption of the tour after the mid-season break adds to the excitement of the event and we look forward to intense competition for top spots on the Order of Merit from here till the end of the season.”

Mr. R Gopinath, President, Coimbatore Golf Club, said, “On behalf of The Coimbatore Golf Club, I am very happy to welcome the PGTI to our city. We have a golf course blessed with strong winds that has always been a deceptively tough course. With the good rains recently, the course is presented in pristine condition offering a strong challenge to the golfer. After nearly eight years the PGTI makes a stop at Coimbatore Golf Club. It will be very interesting to see to what extent the top golf professionals of the country are able to rise to the challenge the conditions present.”

Mr. Prassadh Shanmugam, CEO of KGiSL, said, “In Association with PGTI and The Coimbatore Golf Club, KGiSL takes great pride in bringing professional golf to Coimbatore after a gap of eight years. I am sure that a tournament of this stature will invigorate more youngsters to take up Golf, and will create more awareness among the public. Being an avid golfer myself, I am looking forward to watching the pros in action.”

The Coimbatore Golf Club, nestled among the Nilgiri mountains, is a par-72, 6540 yard course. The Palghat Hills, part of the Western Ghats, form a scenic backdrop to the course. The playing experience is heavily influenced by the seasons. Strong Westerly winds during May to September make the course the most challenging. The winds ensure that the golfers have a tough battle on their hands. For an errant golfer, the course can be extremely unforgiving.
