    Thirty-year-old Abhijit Singh Chadha (63-65-64-66), leading by one shot at the end of round three, sank four birdies on Saturday, to end up with an impressive winning total of 21-under 258.

    Twenty-one-year-old Kartik Sharma of Gurugram, who has so far enjoyed an exceptional rookie season on the PGTI with four top-10s to his name, once again displayed his fine form with a sizzling nine-under 60 to storm into a two-shot lead on day two of the Rs. 40 lakh Pune Open Golf Championship 2021 being played at the Poona Club Golf Course.

    The left-handed Kartik (66-60), lying tied second and three shots off the lead after round one, moved his total to 13-under 126 on Thursday after making 10 birdies and a bogey during his second round. Sharma’s 60 is the best round of the tournament so far.

    Abhijit Singh Chadha of Chandigarh negotiated the rainy conditions well to seize the early initiative at the Rs. 40 lakh Pune Open Golf Championship 2021 being played at the Poona Club Golf Course.

    Pune Open Golf Championship 2021 to tee off on December 1

    The TATA Steel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official sanctioning body of professional golf in India, will be staging the fifth edition of the Pune Open Golf Championship at the Poona Club Golf Course from December 1 – 4, 2021. The tournament which is the last full-field event of the TATA Steel PGTI’s 2020-2021 season before the season-ending TATA Steel Tour Championship, carries a prize purse of Rs. 40 lakh. The Pro-Am event is scheduled for December 5.

    The tournament is supported by Event Partners Gujarat Tourism, Incredible India, Singleton, Westin Pune and the Poona Club Golf Course.
