    Mithun Perera of Sri Lanka defended his title at the Standard Chartered Open after signing off with a final round of five-under-66 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. Perera ended the week with a total score of 22-under-262 at his home course. N Thangaraja, another local lad, produced a six-under-65 in round four to claim the runner-up spot at 19-under-265.

    Mithun Perera of Sri Lanka fired a six-under-65 in round three to take a two-stroke lead at the Standard Chartered Open, a PGTI event, being played at the Royal Colombo Golf Club in Colombo.     Chiragh Kumar shoots day's best score to grab a share of the lead

    Chiragh Kumar of India shot the day’s joint best score of seven-under-64 to share the three-way lead along with Mithun Perera of Sri Lanka and Nepal’s Shivaram Shrestha at the end of round two of the Standard Chartered Open, a PGTI event, being played at the Royal Colombo Golf  Club in Colombo. The three golfers have matching total scores of 11-under-131.

    The cut was declared at five-over-147. Fifty professionals and one amateur made the cut.

    Standard Chartered Open 2014 tees off from February 6th

    The Standard Chartered Open 2014 will once more bring a professional golf event sanctioned by the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) to Sri Lanka. The four-day tournament scheduled from February 6 - 9, 2014 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club will field around 100 professional golfers who will compete for the prize of USD 50,000.
