  Mukesh Kumar of Mhow walked away with the trophy at the PGTI Players Championship at Chandigarh Golf Club after posting an immaculate six-under-66 in the final round. Mukesh totaled 13-under-275 for the tournament to register a four-stroke win. Rookie Ashbeer Saini of Kapurthala had a creditable runner-up finish on his PGTI debut with a nine-under-279 total.

  Abhinav Lohan of Faridabad and Kapurthala’s Ashbeer Saini shot scores of 68 and 71 respectively to climb into the joint third round lead along with overnight leader Mukesh Kumar of Mhow who fired an ordinary 75 on Thursday.   Spurred on by a hole-in-one on the 11th, ‘King of the Indian greens’ Mukesh Kumar marched ahead into a four-stroke lead at the PGTI Players Championship at Chandigarh Golf Club. The man from Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, carded a second straight 67 to take his two-day total to 10-under-134.   Nineteen rookies will make their debut on the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) during the PGTI Players Championship at Chandigarh Golf Club which begins on February 19.

  
  

  The nineteen players making their professional debut in Chandigarh qualified to play on the PGTI through the PGTI’s 2013 Qualifying School which was held in December 2012 at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Kolkata.
