    Umed Kumar wins Dilip Tirkey Invitational 2025 in dramatic playoff finish; Umed’s victory earns him PGTI NEXGEN Order of Merit title

    In a dramatic finish, Umed Kumar produced back-to-back chip-in birdies, one in the final hole of regulation play and one in the playoff, to win the PGTI NEXGEN’s season finale, the Dilip Tirkey Invitational 2025, an INR 20 lakh event, played at the Bhubaneswar Golf Club. It was Umed’s second NEXGEN title of the season.

    Umed, who hails from Chandimandir, Haryana, collected the winning cheque worth INR 2,54,000 that helped him finish as No. 1 in the 2025 PGTI NEXGEN Order of Merit with season’s earnings of INR 8,61,140. As a result of emerging NEXGEN Order of Merit champion, Umed has earned himself exemption on the PGTI’s main tour next year.

    Umed Kumar races into three-shot lead in round two of Dilip Tirkey Invitational 2025

    Umed Kumar carded a two-under 70 in round two to race into a three-shot lead at the PGTI NEXGEN’s Dilip Tirkey Invitational 2025 being played at the Bhubaneswar Golf Club.

    Overnight joint leader Umed (67-70), who hails from Chandimandir, Haryana, moved his total to seven-under 137 on day two thus raising his hopes of bagging his second NEXGEN title this season.

    Divesh Rana (67-73), the other overnight joint leader, dropped down to second position at a total of four-under 140 following his round of 73 on Wednesday.

    Sanjeev Kumar (72-69) moved up four spots to third position at three-under 141 thanks to his error-free second round of 69.

    Divesh Rana and Umed Kumar hold joint lead after round one of Dilip Tirkey Invitational 2025

    The Haryana duo of Divesh Rana and Umed Kumar fired scores of five-under 67 to take the joint lead in round one of the PGTI NEXGEN’s Dilip Tirkey Invitational 2025 being played at the Bhubaneswar Golf Club.

    Saurav Rathi and Bipin Mukhiya were placed two shots behind the joint leaders in tied third place at PGTI’s first ever event being played in the state of Odisha.

    Ajay Kumar Sahu was the highest-placed among the local professionals at the INR 20 lakh event after he shot a 75 to be 33rd in the 58-man field.

    The NEXGEN season finale marks PGTI’s debut in Odisha

    The inaugural Dilip Tirkey Invitational will be played at the magnificent Bhubaneswar Golf Club from November 4 – 6, 2025. The eighth and final event of the 2025 Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) NEXGEN season marks PGTI’s debut in the state of Odisha.

    The tournament offers a prize purse of INR 20 lakh. The winner’s cheque will be of INR 2,54,000.

    The tournament, featuring a field of 72 players, will be played over three rounds (54 holes) with the cut being applied after two rounds (36 holes). The top-36 players and ties will make the cut for the third and final round.
