    Varun Parikh edges out Rahil Gangjee in classic playoff encounter to win Haryana Open 2024

    Ahmedabad’s Varun Parikh edged out Bengaluru’s Rahil Gangjee in a classic playoff encounter to win the INR 1 crore Haryana Open 2024 played at the Panchkula Golf Club (PGC).

    Varun (64-71-67-69) prevailed over Rahil (63-71-67-70) on the fourth playoff hole to bag his second professional title after the two golfers had finished the regulation 72 holes with identical totals of 17-under 271.

    Twenty-six-year-old Parikh, who hails from the Gulmohar Greens Golf Course in Ahmedabad, earned a prize money cheque worth INR 15 lakh and thus climbed from 48th to 16th position in the TATA Steel PGTI Ranking.

    Rahil Gangjee regains lead, Varun Parikh gives chase on day three

    First round leader Rahil Gangjee of Bengaluru regained the lead on day three of the INR 1 crore Haryana Open 2024 being played at the Panchkula Golf Club (PGC) following his solid round of five-under 67 that moved his total to 15-under 201.

    Varun Parikh of Ahmedabad, who too had a great start to the week like Rahil but slipped in round two, also bounced back with a 67 on Saturday that placed him second at 14-under 202.

    TATA Steel PGTI Ranking leader Veer Ahlawat of Gurugram too struck a 67 to make his way to tied third at 12-under 204. Pune’s Rohan Dhole Patil (67) and Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma (70) joined Ahlawat in tied third position.

    Pukhraj Singh Gill produces day’s best of 63 to storm into halfway lead

    Ludhiana-based Pukhraj Singh Gill produced the second day’s best score of nine-under 63, also his personal best, to storm into the halfway lead at a total of 12-under 132 at the INR 1 crore Haryana Open 2024 being played at the Panchkula Golf Club (PGC).

    Pukhraj’s (69-63) flawless second round helped him jump 16 spots from his overnight tied 17th position.

    Rahil Gangjee shoots super 63 for first round lead at Haryana Open 2024

    Bengaluru-based Rahil Gangjee, who bagged two international titles earlier this year, continued his sizzling form with a superb nine-under 63 to take the first-round lead at the INR 1 crore Haryana Open 2024 being played at the Panchkula Golf Club (PGC).

    Ahmedabad’s Varun Parikh came up with a personal best score of eight-under 64 to be placed second.

    Defending champion Jairaj Singh Sandhu of Chandigarh was tied for third at seven-under 65 along with teenage rookie Anshul Kabthiyal, N Thangaraja, Dhruv Sheoran and Kshitij Naveed Kaul.

    Haryana Open 2024 gets underway from October 17 at Panchkula Golf Club

    The TATA Steel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official sanctioning body for men’s professional golf in India, will be staging the Haryana Open 2024 at the Panchkula Golf Club from October 17 – 20, 2024. The tournament carries a prize purse of INR 1 crore. The Pro-Am event will be played on October 16.

    The field at the sixth edition of the Haryana Open will feature 123 professionals and three amateurs. The leading Indian professionals in the field are TATA Steel PGTI Ranking leader Veer Ahlawat, Angad Cheema, Rahil Gangjee, Shaurya Binu, Aman Raj, Udayan Mane and defending champion Jairaj Singh Sandhu, to name a few.
