    Delhi-based rookie Shaurya Bhattacharya’s late flourish on the final day earned him a dramatic come-from-behind victory and his maiden professional title at the INR 50 lakh J&K Open 2024 presented by J&K Tourism played at the Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC) in Jammu.

    The 21-year-old Shaurya (67-69-73-69), playing his first season on the PGTI, showed great character to card the joint lowest score of the round, an error-free three-under 69, on a tough final day where almost every golfer struggled, to total 10-under 278 for the week and become the first rookie to win on the PGTI in five years.

    Gurugram’s Kartik Sharma fired an outstanding five-under 67 to take a three-shot lead at 10-under 206 in round three of the INR 50 lakh J&K Open 2024 presented by J&K Tourism being played at the Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC) in Jammu.

    Twenty-four-year-old Kartik (71-68-67), who was overnight tied fifth and three off the lead, put together a flawless round to rise four spots on the leaderboard. The left-handed golfer, currently 26th on the TATA Steel PGTI Ranking, is searching for his maiden professional title.

    Delhi-based rookie Shaurya Bhattacharya carded a spirited three-under 69 to maintain his lead in round two of the J&K Open 2024 presented by J&K Tourism being played at the Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC) in Jammu.

    The 21-year-old Shaurya (67-69), the overnight joint leader, made five birdies and two bogeys on Thursday to emerge sole leader at a total of eight-under 136.

    Sachin Baisoya (67-70), another Delhi golfer, produced a bogey-free two-under 70 to be placed second at seven-under 137.

    The cut was declared at five-over 149. Fifty-five professionals made the cut.

The total prize purse for the event is INR 50 lakh. The Pro-Am event will be held on October 27.
