    Dhruv Sheoran’s valiant final round 69 earns him maiden title on PGTI at Chennai Pro Championship 2024

    Gurugram’s Dhruv Sheoran struck a valiant three-under 69 in the final round of the INR 50 lakh Chennai Pro Championship 2024 to earn his maiden title on the PGTI. Dhruv totaled 16-under 272 for the week to win with a comfortable three-stroke margin at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai.

    Sheoran (69-67-67-69), previously a two-time winner on the PGTI Feeder Tour in 2018, bagged a winning cheque worth INR 7.5 lakh on Friday that propelled him from 23rd to 14th position in the TATA Steel PGTI Ranking.

    Dhruv Sheoran shoots 67 to emerge joint leader along with Manu Gandas on day three

    Gurugram’s Dhruv Sheoran shot a brilliant five-under 67 to move up two spots and emerge joint leader at a total of 13-under 203 on day three of the INR 50 lakh Chennai Pro Championship 2024 being played at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai.

    Manu Gandas, who like Sheoran, also hails from the DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurugram, signed for a four-under 68 to share the lead for the third day running.

    Pune’s Rohan Dhole Patil, the co-leader at the halfway stage, struck a 71 to end the day in third place at 10-under 206.

    Faridabad’s Abhinav Lohan (69) and Bangladesh’s Jamal Hossain (70) were tied for fourth at eight-under 208.

    Rohan Dhole Patil rises into joint lead with a 66, Manu Gandas continues at the top

    Bishmadpal Singh fires 64 to set new course record, climbs to tied fourth

    Rohan Dhole Patil of Pune posted a six-under 66 to rise into the joint lead at nine-under 135 on day two of the INR 50 lakh Chennai Pro Championship 2024 being played at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai. Gurugram’s Manu Gandas was the co-leader for the second straight day after he returned a 68.

    Dhruv Sheoran, another Gurugram golfer, carded a bogey-free 67 to end the day in third place at eight-under 136.

    Chandigarh’s Bishmadpal Singh, playing his first event this year, scorched the course with an eight-under 64 to set a new course record and end the day in tied fourth at seven-under 137 along with Nepal’s Subash Tamang (69).

    Manu Gandas of Gurugram soared to the top of the leaderboard with a record three eagles in his first round of five-under 67. Mysuru’s Yashas Chandra and Bengaluru’s Syed Saqib Ahmed also fired rounds of 67 on Tuesday to join Gandas in the lead at the inaugural Chennai Pro Championship being played at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai.

    Inaugural Chennai Pro Championship begins at TNGF Cosmo Golf Course from August 20

    The inaugural edition of the Chennai Pro Championship will be played from August 20 – 23 at the Tamil Nadu Golf Federation (TNGF) Cosmo Golf Course. The tournament carries a prize purse of INR 50 lakh. The Pro-Am event will be staged on August 24.

    The event will witness participation by 126 golfers including 123 professionals and three amateurs. The leading Indian professionals in the field include Veer Ahlawat (TATA Steel PGTI Ranking leader), Manu Gandas, Rashid Khan, Karandeep Kochhar, Chikkarangappa, Shaurya Binu and Udayan Mane, to name a few.
