    Shaurya Binu sees it home with gallant final round 65, lifts second trophy of the season to climb up to fifth in the TATA Steel PGTI Ranking

    Twenty-year-old Shaurya Binu of Bengaluru saw it home with a gallant final round performance of five-under 65 in a closely-fought affair at the INR 1 Crore Mysuru Open 2024 Hosted by Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC).

    Shaurya (64-64-64-65) totaled 23-under 257 to prevail by one shot over Patna’s Aman Raj (62-67-66-63) who carded a brilliant 63 in the last round.

    Binu, who bagged the winning cheque worth INR 15 lakh, thus lifted his second trophy of the season to climb up three spots to fifth place in the TATA Steel PGTI Ranking.

    Teenage amateur Veer Ganapathy of Bengaluru stormed into the joint third round lead after firing a sensational nine-under 61 at the INR 1 Crore Mysuru Open 2024 Hosted by Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC).

    Shaurya Binu, another Bengalurean, returned a six-under 64 to give Veer company at the top of the pack at a total of 18-under 192.

    A bunch of seven golfers trail the leaders by three shots and are placed tied third. This group includes Amardeep Malik, Angad Cheema, Pukhraj Singh Gill, and Aryan Roopa Anand, all having shot scores of 65, as well as Aman Raj (66), overnight leader Arjun Sharma (68) and Kartik Sharma (67).

    Greater Noida’s Arjun Sharma fired an ace enroute his super six-under 64 in round two that propelled him into the halfway lead at 13-under 127 at the INR 1 Crore Mysuru Open 2024 Hosted by Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC).

    Gurugram golfer Kartik Sharma’s 63 and scores of 64 by Bengaluru’s Shaurya Binu and Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma placed them in a three-way tie for second place at 12-under 128.

    Aman Raj takes first round lead with a sublime 62 at inaugural Mysuru Open Hosted by JWGC

    Teenage amateur and local lad Veer Ganapathy tied for second

    Patna’s Aman Raj took the round one lead with a sublime eight-under 62 at the inaugural Mysuru Open Hosted by Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC), the first ever men’s professional tournament to be played in Mysuru.

    Seventeen-year-old amateur Veer Ganapathy of Bengaluru, who also plays regularly at JWGC, struck a seven-under 63 in his first ever round in a professional event to be tied for second place along with Chandigarh’s Angad Cheema and Noida’s Arjun Sharma.

    The opening round of the INR 1 crore event witnessed a brief downpour of 15 minutes in the afternoon but play was not suspended at any stage.

    The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official sanctioning body of professional golf in India, along with Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC), Mysuru, today launched a new event, the Mysuru Open Hosted by Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club, which will be held at the picturesque JWGC from August 8 – 11, 2024. The total prize purse for the event is INR 1 crore.
