  Chandigarh golfer Jairaj Singh Sandhu’s consistency through the week paid off as he clinched his maiden title at the INR 1 crore Haryana Open 2023 presented by Wonder Cement played at the Panchkula Golf Club.

  Jairaj (66-69-68-67), who was in the lead on the first two days before slipping to second place on day three, produced a flawless five-under 67 on Saturday before finally prevailing in a playoff to weather the storm called Honey Baisoya (68-70-66-66), who on his part shot the last day’s best score of six-under 66.

  Haryana-based golfer Abhinav Lohan’s second round of four-under 68 propelled him into the joint lead along with Chandigarh’s Jairaj Singh Sandhu, who shot a three-under 69 on Thursday, at the INR 1 crore Haryana Open 2023 presented by Wonder Cement being played at the Panchkula Golf Club.

  Tricity lad Jairaj Singh Sandhu shoots 66 for first round lead at Haryana Open 2023 presented by Wonder Cement

  Tricity lad Jairaj Singh Sandhu shot a first-round score of six-under 66 to take the lead at the INR 1 crore Haryana Open 2023 presented by Wonder Cement being played at the Panchkula Golf Club.

  Rahil Gangjee, Samarth Dwivedi and Abhinav Lohan were tied for second place with matching scores of 67.

  Besides Jairaj, the other Tricity golfers in the top 10 were Aadil Bedi, Akshay Sharma and Amandeep Johl, all placed tied fifth at 68.
