  Chilean Matias Dominguez records historic 12-under 59 to win Pre-Qualifying III by handsome six-shot margin, 30 players advance to Final Stage

  Chile’s Matias Dominguez created history with his sensational second round of 12-under 59 at Pre-Qualifying III of the TATA Steel PGTI Qualifying School 2024 being held at the Golmuri Golf Course in Jamshedpur.

  The 31-year-old Matias Dominguez (68-59) won Pre-Q III with a handsome six-stroke margin after he totalled 15-under 127 as a result of his 59 on Saturday.

  Even though the 'Preferred Lie' rule was in application during Pre-Q III, Matias' round of 59 featuring an eagle and 10 birdies was a landmark moment in PGTI history as it happened to be the lowest number ever recorded on the tour.

  Aditya Bhandarkar takes the opening round honours at Pre-Qualifying III

  Pune’s Aditya Bhandarkar returned a five-under 66 to take the opening round honours at Pre-Qualifying III of the TATA Steel PGTI Qualifying School 2024 being played at the Golmuri Golf Course in Jamshedpur.

  Aditya Bhandarkar, returning to competitive golf after a year, began the day with birdies on the first two holes including a 15-feet conversion on the first hole to shake off the nerves. The 35-year-old then added two more birdies and bogeys each on the front-nine. Bhandarkar holed it from the rough from 50 yards out for birdie on the ninth.
