  Sunhit Bishnoi outshines field to land maiden title at inaugural India Cements Pro Championship

  Gurugram’s Sunhit Bishnoi was a cut above the rest as he produced a red-hot eight-under 64 on the final day to outshine the rest of the field and land his maiden title at the inaugural India Cements Pro Championship played at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai.

  The 22-year-old Sunhit (66-68-70-64), playing only his second season as a professional, totaled 20-under 268 at the Rs. 50 lakh event to emerge wire-to-wire winner with an imposing nine-stroke margin. Bishnoi’s last round of 64 matched the tournament’s lowest score shot by Divyanshu Bajaj on day three.

  Akshay Sharma & Sunhit Bishnoi gain two-shot advantage on moving day

  Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma of Chandigarh pulled out a three-under 69 while Gurugram’s Sunhit Bishnoi struck a two-under 70 as the duo gained a two-shot advantage over the rest of the field at a total of 12-under 204 in round three of the Rs. 50 lakh India Cements Pro Championship 2023 being played at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai.

  Day three of the tournament, also known as moving day in golf, saw Kolkata’s Divyanshu Bajaj produce the week’s lowest round, an eight-under 64, to zoom 24 places to tied third at 10-under 206 along with Chandigarh golfer Harendra Gupta (69).

  Sunhit Bishnoi shines on tougher scoring day, enjoys one-shot lead at halfway stage

  Gurugram lad Sunhit Bishnoi’s fine effort of four-under 68 helped him take a one-shot lead in relatively tougher conditions on day two of the Rs. 50 lakh India Cements Pro Championship 2023 being played at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai.

  On a more windy day and with tougher pin positions in place there were fewer under-par scores (34) in round two as compared to round one (45). The 22-year-old Bishnoi’s 68 helped him rise from being the overnight joint leader to sole leader at a total of 10-under 134.

  The second half of the TATA Steel PGTI’s 2023 season got off to a cracking start with the first round of the inaugural India Cements Pro Championship.
