Twenty-five-year-old Yuvraj Singh Sandhu’s gritty last round display of four-under 66 that featured a final flourish with an eagle-two on the 16th and a 35-feet birdie conversion on the 18th helped him prevail in a thriller as he recorded the lowest winning total of 21-under 259 at the Tollygunge Club to earn his second title.

Yuvraj Singh Sandhu ruled the roost with a phenomenal nine-under 61, the week’s best score so far, to move into a three-shot lead at 17-under 193 after round three of the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship 2022 presented by Tollygunge Club.
The Chandigarh-based 25-year-old Yuvraj (67-65-61), who was sixth on the PGTI merit list last year after an outstanding season that featured his maiden win and 11 other top-10s, went error-free at Tollygunge Club on Thursday to climb from overnight tied fourth into pole position. Sandhu was one short of Kolkata golfer Indrajit Bhalotia’s course record of 60 set by the latter at the Warren Open in 1998.

Rahil Gangjee, finding his knack with the longer putts at his original home course, returned a consistent four-under 66 to edge ahead by one shot in round two of the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship 2022 presented by Tollygunge Club.
Gangjee (64-66), originally from Kolkata and now based in Bengaluru, moved up one spot from his overnight tied second as his total read 10-under 130.
Shamim Khan (66-65) struck the day’s joint best score of 65 that lifted him 12 positions to tied second at nine-under 131.
