  Syed Saqib Ahmed breaks into the winner's circle with a gritty final day performance at the PGTI Cochin Masters presented by CIAL Golf Club

  Twenty-three-year-old wins by three shots after surviving a few anxious moments towards the end

  Bengaluru’s Syed Saqib Ahmed, the overnight leader, wasn’t expected to have an easy ride to victory in Kochi on Saturday as it was still uncharted territory for him.

  
  

  As it turned out, the 23-year-old did survive a few anxious moments towards the end of round four of the PGTI Cochin Masters presented by CIAL Golf Club before signing off with a gritty even-par-72 that helped him break into the winner’s circle on the PGTI.

  Bengaluru lad Syed Saqib Ahmed has done all the hard work for three days to get within striking distance of his maiden title at the PGTI Cochin Masters presented by CIAL Golf Club.   Syed Saqib Ahmed soars to the top on the back of a hole-in-one, leads by four

  Bengaluru’s Syed Saqib Ahmed hardly put a foot wrong during his second round of six-under-66 that helped him soar to the top of the leaderboard at the PGTI Cochin Masters presented by CIAL Golf Club. Saqib, whose round on Thursday featured a hole-in-one, totaled nine-under-135 at the halfway stage to lead by a massive four shots.

  Amardip Sinh Malik takes pole position on day one of PGTI Cochin Masters presented by CIAL Golf Club

  Noida’s Amardip Sinh Malik was the quickest off the blocks in the second event of the 2018 PGTI season, the PGTI Cochin Masters presented by CIAL Golf Club. Malik, a two-time winner on the PGTI, fired an exceptional five-under-67 in round one of the Rs. 40 lakh event on Wednesday to establish a one-shot lead.
