India’s Shiv Kapur fulfilled a lifelong ambition of winning at his home course, the Delhi Golf Club (DGC), when he marched to a three-shot victory at the Panasonic Open India 2017 on Sunday. It was his third Asian Tour title and fifth international win.
Kapur shot a final round of four-under-68 at the US$400,000 event that took his tally to 17-under-271 for the week. Shiv, overwhelmed by emotions in the final stages of the tournament, thus registered his first Asian Tour win on home turf in India and his second of the 2017 Asian Tour season.

Shiv Kapur was the best placed Indian at the halfway stage of the Asian Tour’s US$400,000 Panasonic Open India. Kapur, playing at his home course, the Delhi Golf Club (DGC), backed up his opening round seven-under-65 with a second round of three-under-69 to take his tally to an impressive 10-under-134.
American Paul Peterson challenged the Indian domination on day two with a sizzling eight-under-64 that gave him a one stroke lead at 11-under-133.

Chandigarh-based Ajeetesh, a winner of two titles in October including one on the Asian Tour, took a one-shot lead at the US$ 400,000 event as a result of a round that consisted of an eagle, seven birdies and a bogey.
