Himmat secured his breakthrough win on the Asian Tour at the ISPS Handa Singapore Classic 2011. He achieved a dramatic victory in Singapore as he came through on the sixth playoff hole. Himmat also ended tied seventh at the Indian Open and the Panasonic Open in 2011 and posted a tied 13th place at the Barclays Singapore Open. He is currently placed 14th on the Asian Tour Order of Merit.
Rai has claimed a win and four other top-10 finishes on the PGTI in 2011 and was placed seventh in the Rolex Rankings. He won the DLF Masters and was runner-up at the PGTI Players Championship presented by Oxford Golf & Country.
Himmat had five top-10s on the PGTI in 2010. He secured runner-up finishes at the PGTI Players Championship presented by Oxford Golf & Country Club and The Global Green Bangalore Open and finished tied third at the PGTI Players Championship presented by Poona Club Ltd.
Rai posted a tied third at the Iskandar Johor Open, tied 10th at the Singha Thailand Open and a tied 14th finish at the Queen’s Cup in his first season (2009) as a full card holder on the Asian Tour.
Himmat registered his first professional win in February 2009 at the PGTI Players Championship presented by Tollygunge Club. He secured three other top-10s on the PGTI in 2009 including a runner-up finish at the PGTI Players Championship presented by Rambagh Golf Club, a tied third finish at the BILT Open 2009 and fourth place at the Crompton Greaves Open 2009. He closed the year in ninth place on the Rolex Rankings.
Best finish on the Asian Tour in 2008 was tied 21st at the Indian Open.
In the 2007-08 PGTI season, Himmat posted five top-10s out of 13 starts. His best finish came at the BILT Open 2007, where he was tied third. He finished 14th on the PGTI Order of Merit for 2007-08.
In his maiden professional season in 2006-07, Rai’s best performance was a tied 17th finish at the SRF All India Professional Golf Matchplay Championship.
As an amateur he won the East India Championship in 2005 and 2006 and the All India Championship in 2005.
Won the Junior Northern India Championship and represented India at the Junior World Cup.
