CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- Vijay Kumar had a runner-up finish at the PGTI Players Championship 2013 held at Noida Golf Course.
- Vijay finished 11th in the 2012 TATA Steel PGTI Ranking thanks to six top-10s. He was the runner-up at the Surya Nepal Masters 2012 and joint runner-up at the PGTI Players Championship at Chandigarh Golf Club.
- Kumar finished 18th on the Rolex Rankings 2011 with eight top-10s. His best performance in the year was the joint runner-up finish at the Aircel PGTI Players Championship presented by Chandigarh Golf Club.
- Vijay was ranked fourth on the 2010 Rolex Rankings with one win and eight other top-10s. His top performances in the 2010 season included a victory at the Haryana Open, runner-up finish at the 9th TATA Open and third place finishes at the BILT Open, Solaris Chemtech Open Golf Championship, DDA Open and the Crompton Greaves Open.
- He produced some top performances in the 2009 season. He was runner-up at the DDA Open, the PGTI – 125th Year Madras Gymkhana Club Tamil Nadu Open and the ONGC Masters 2009. He was also joint runner-up at the PGTI Players Championship presented by Panchkula Golf Club. Vijay finished sixth on the Rolex Rankings in 2009 with 14 top-10s out of 21 starts.
- Vijay had eight top-10 finishes out of 19 starts in the 2007-08 PGTI season and was ranked 13th on the PGTI Order of Merit. His best finish in the last season was tied third at the Tamil Nadu Open Golf Championship.
- In the 2006-07 PGTI season Vijay notched up four top 10s out of seven starts and as a result finished 11th on the PGTI Order of Merit. His best performances in the 2006-07 season were third place at the DLF Masters 2007 and tied fourth at the CG Open 2007.
- The Lucknow golfer was the joint runner-up at the 2006 Indian Open.
- Won the Lucknow Open in the 2005-06 season.
- He won the All India Matchplay Championship in 2002-03.
- One of his biggest achievements has been winning the 2002 Indian Open. He is one of the only seven Indians to have won the Indian Open title.
- Vijay has been the Order of Merit champion on the Indian professional circuit in 1995-96, 1997-98, 1998-99 and 1999-2000.
