Gangjee makes gains with third round 67 in Malaysia

Lahiri in tied 26th after round three in the US

Rahil Gangjee returned a four-under-67 in round three of the Maybank Championship to climb 23 places from overnight tied 38th to tied 15th. He totaled six-under-207 for three days to lie nine shots behind the leader Soomin Lee of Korea.

Gangjee, who had shot scores of 68 and 72 on the first two days, produced his best score of the week on Saturday as he sank six birdies against two bogeys.

Gaganjeet Bhullar shot a second straight 71 to drop from overnight tied 17th to tied 25th at four-under-209. His third round included three birdies and an equal number of bogeys.

Elsewhere, at the PGA Tour's Northern Trust Open, Anirban Lahiri made five bogeys and three birdies in his third round of two-under-69 to climb two places to tied 26th.
