Chawrasia bags tied fifth at Myanmar Open
Lahiri in tied 39th after round three of Phoenix Open
SSP Chawrasia (66-66-68-70) bagged tied fifth place at the US$750,000 Leopalace21 Myanmar Open as his final round of two-under-70 took his tournament total to 18-under-270. Chawrasia finished six shots adrift of the eventual champion Shaun Norris of South Africa.
SSP, who was overnight tied second, slipped three places on the final day after posting a round that featured four birdies and two bogeys. Chawrasia’s successive rounds of 66 on the first two days had given him a share of the halfway lead earlier in the week.
Rahil Gangjee (71-66-66-72) was the second Indian in the top-20 as he secured tied 15th place with a total of 13-under-275.
Himmat Rai, Rashid Khan and Arjun Atwal, all took a share of 26th place at 10-under-278 while Shiv Kapur was a further shot back in tied 35th.
At the PGA Tour’s Waste Management Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, Arizona, India’s Anirban Lahiri shot an even-par-71 in round three to be tied 39th at two-under-211.
