Kapur claims tied 11th in Abu Dhabi, Lahiri is tied 28th at CareerBuilder Challenge
Shiv Kapur (74-69-65-70) claimed an impressive tied 11th place at the European Tour’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship after posting a final round of two-under-70. Kapur’s 10-under-278 total meant he finished six shots behind the eventual champion Rickie Fowler of the United States.
Shiv’s final round featured five birdies against a bogey and a double-bogey. Kapur’s third round effort of seven-under-65 had propelled him to tied 12th from where he gained another place on the final day.
Meanwhile at the PGA Tour’s CareerBuilder Challenge, Anirban Lahiri (64-68-71-71) carded a one-under-71 in round four to finish in a share of 28th place in his first PGA TOUR event of the year. He totalled 14-under-274 to finish 11 shots behind eventual winner Jason Dufner of the United States who defeated Swede David Lingmerth in a playoff.
The 28-year-old Anirban had shot scores of 64 and 68 in the first two rounds to be the joint leader and tied third on the first two days respectively. However, successive scores of 71 in the last two rounds saw him slip out of contention.
