Dipankar Kaushal wins Pre Qualifying I, forty-eight players qualify for Final Stage
Noida’s Dipankar Kaushal (67-73) finished on top of the leaderboard at the end of round two of the PGTI’s Pre Qualifying I for the 2016 season being held at the Kensville Golf & Country Club near Ahmedabad. Kaushal, who had fired a brilliant five-under-67 in round one, came up with a steady one-over-73 in round two to end up with a two-day total of four-under-140.
A total of 48 players qualified from Pre Qualifying I for the Final Qualifying Stage as 11 players were tied in 38th position when the cut was declared at 15-over-159.
Dipankar, the overnight leader by three shots, made three birdies against two bogeys and a double-bogey in his second round on Wednesday.
Ikramuddin Shah (72-69) of Delhi secured second place at three-under-141.
Bhopal’s Devendra Patel (75-69) came in third at even-par-144.
