Ashok Kumar emerges round one leader
Delhi’s Ashok Kumar leads with a score of 42 points after round one of the PGTI Players Championship at the Classic Golf Resort in Mewat, Haryana.
The stableford points scoring format is being followed in the tournament. Under this scoring format, each par counts for two points, each birdie for three points, each eagle for four points, each bogey for one point and each double bogey (or worse) for zero points.
Ashok Kumar’s round of six-under-66 earned him 42 points on day one. Ashok made seven birdies against one bogey.
Gurgaon-based amateur Aienesh Ahluwalia, Lucknow duo of Sanjay Kumar and Amardeep Rawat, Kolkata’s Raju Ali Mollah, Siddharth Seth of Delhi and Chandigarh golfer Gurbaaz Mann are in tied second place with identical scores five-under-67 that earned them 41 points each.
