Ansal API Feeder Tour Championship presented by The Palms Golf Club – Sushant Golf City begins on September 16

The Ansal API Feeder Tour Championship presented by The Palms Golf Club – Sushant Golf City, the sixth and final event of the Professional Golf Tour of India’s (PGTI) 2014 Feeder Tour season, will be held from September 16 – 18, 2014, at The Palms Golf Club – an 18 hole international standard championship golf course located in Ansal API’s hi-tech township – Sushant Golf City, Lucknow. 

The Palms Golf Club, touted as one of the best upcoming golf courses in India, is set to stage the event for the second year running. The tournament carries a total prize purse of Rs. 6 lakh. The tournament will feature a field of 72 players and will be played over three rounds of 18 holes each with the cut being applied after 36 holes.

The top names in the field include Randhir Singh Ghotra of Chandigarh and Meerut’s Sudhir Sharma, a winner of two events during the 2010 Feeder Tour season. The local challenge will be led by Lucknow-based professionals Rajesh Kumar Rawat, Sheeraz Kalra, Bhoop Singh, Manoj Kumar, Amardeep Rawat, Sanjeev Kumar, Eshanvir Singh and Rishi, to name a few. Akshay Sharma of Chandigarh and Delhi’s Gulfam, currently placed first and second on the Feeder Tour Order of Merit respectively, will also be among the top contenders at the event.

Akshay Sharma and Gulfam are currently engaged in a keen contest for the top spot in the Order of Merit. While Akshay, the winner of the season’s first event in Jaipur, has earnings of Rs. 2,15,280, Gulfam, who bagged the fourth event of the season at Forest Hill Golf Resort in Punjab, is not far behind with earnings of Rs. 1,74,540. The winner of the 2014 PGTI Feeder Tour Order of Merit will get an exemption to play on the PGTI in 2015.
