Gaurav Pratap Singh opens up a two-shot lead with a five-under-67 in round two
Noida’s Gaurav Pratap Singh (74-67) fired a five-under-67 to take the round two lead in the PGTI Feeder Tour event being played at the Aravalli Golf Club in Faridabad, Haryana. Gaurav’s total score at the end of round two stood at three-under-141. Faridabad’s Ramesh Kumar (74-69) was in second place at one-under-143.
The cut was declared at 11-over-155. Thirty-seven professionals made the cut.
Gaurav Pratap’s round featured six birdies and a bogey. The former winner on the Feeder Tour made a two-on two-putt for birdie on the 12th and chipped-in for birdie on the 16th. He thus climbed six places from his overnight tied seventh to the top of the leaderboard.
“My ball-striking was very accurate today. I made most fairways and landed it close consistently. I’ll look to capitalize on the two-shot advantage in the final round,” said Gaurav.
Local lad Ramesh Kumar, who was also overnight tied seventh, returned a three-under-69 on Thursday to be placed second, two shots off the lead.
The Lucknow duo of Manoj Kumar and Rajesh Kumar Rawat were in tied third place at even-par-144.
Akshay Sharma of Chandigarh, who carded a 68 on Thursday, was a further shot back in fifth place.
