Digvijay Singh leads his team to victory at the Pro-Am event of the PGTI Cochin Masters 2014

The Pro-Am event of the PGTI Cochin Masters presented by CIAL Golf & Country Club was won by Gurgaon-based professional Digvijay Singh and his team on Sunday. The leading amateur golfers from Kochi competed at the Pro-Am event.

The Pro-Am was played in the team scramble format where the team's best ball was chosen on every shot including the putting green. After the best ball was chosen all other players were to place their ball within One Club Length before continuing play. Each team consisted of one professional and three amateurs.

PGTI member Digvijay Singh led his team to victory with a score of 58.8. Digvijay's team comprised of amateurs Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Mr. Santhosh F Williams and Mr. K P Victor.

PGTI member Mukesh Kumar's team finished second with a score of 61.1. Mukesh's team comprised of amateurs Master Vijayesh Haridas, Capt. George Abraham and Mr. Minoo Vergheese.

The prize for the straightest drive on hole no. 9 was won by Mr. Suresh Balram who landed it within 5 cms from the centre of the fairway.

Mr. Gopi Krishan won the prize for the closest shot to the pin on hole no. 14 where his tee shot landed within 3 inches of the pin.

The prize for the longest drive on hole no. 15 was won by Mr. Joseph Joseph whose drive landed at a distance of 275 yards.
