New Year Message (2026) from Kapil Dev

Dear Members and friends of the PGTI family,

As we enter a new year, I extend my warm wishes to our players, caddies, officials, coaches, sponsors, golf clubs, tour partners, and the many well-wishers who support professional golf across India. PGTI continues to stand as a platform built by players and strengthened by everyone who believes in the future of this game.

The year gone by reminded us of what discipline, resilience, and collaboration can achieve. Our tournaments grew stronger, our players competed with courage, and Indian golf earned greater recognition both at home and internationally. I am grateful to our sponsors, our partner clubs, our tour partners, and to the Government of India and State Governments for their encouragement and support in building a stronger sporting ecosystem.

Golf has deeply touched my life, especially after I retired from cricket. My dream now is to help this wonderful game grow and to create meaningful opportunities for players across the country. If Indian golfers want to compete on the world’s biggest stages including the Olympics we must stand together, build our pathways here at home, and further strengthen the PGTI that exists for their progress.

Golf is, at its heart, a grassroots sport, one that can shape discipline, character, and confidence in young players from every corner of India. At the same time, it is also a game that belongs in the boardroom, a sport that teaches leadership, patience, decision-making, and respect. This unique blend is what makes golf so integral for our nation’s future.

With initiatives like 72 The League, we are not just launching a new competition — we are creating a sustainable platform where Indian professionals can play more, earn better, and develop the confidence to challenge the best in the world. This vision is about belief, unity, and a shared ambition to create Indian golf’s own 1983 moment, a turning point that inspires generations to come.

In the year ahead, our focus remains clear: to expand opportunities, support player development, deepen partnerships, and continue elevating Indian professional golf while staying true to the values of integrity, respect, and sportsmanship that define PGTI.

My philosophy has been: “PGTI is our platform, our responsibility, and our opportunity. If we stand together, Indian golf will create its own historic moments.”
