PGTI - Eagleburg Open returns for its second edition

Prize purse of Rs. 30 lakh

The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and Eagleton – The Golf Resort have announced the second edition of the PGTI – Eagleburg Open, which will be played at the pristine Eagleton Golf Resort near Bangalore from 12 - 15 February, 2014. The event, the third of the 2014 PGTI season, offers a prize purse of Rs. 30 lakh.

The tournament will feature a strong line-up of professionals including the likes of defending champion Anirban Lahiri (3rd on 2013 Asian Tour Order of Merit) who will also be leading the local challenge as well as India’s other top professionals such as Himmat Singh Rai, Rahil Gangjee, Chiragh Kumar, Shamim Khan, Mukesh Kumar, and Bangladesh’s Md Siddikur Rahman (reigning Indian Open champion and 4th on 2013 Asian Tour Order of Merit) as well as Sri Lankan Mithun Perera.

M Dharma, C Muniyappa, R Murthy, Abhishek Jha, R Srinivas and Gaurav Diwan are the other top Bangalore golfers in the fray besides Rolex Rankings leader Anirban Lahiri.

The venue for the event, Eagleton – The Golf Resort, situated on the Bangalore-Mysore highway, is home to a USPGA standard course. This picturesque course is spread out over 170 acres and has undulating fairways and huge greens with an excellent drainage system. Over 40,000 trees, lush turf and sophisticated fertilization, irrigation and waste water management contribute to a natural and pleasing biosphere.
