23rd IndianOil SERVO Masters Golf begins on November 22
Prize purse raised to INR 80 lakh

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Assam Oil Division) Digboi is all set to host the 23rd edition of the IndianOil SERVO Masters Golf tournament. This premier Golf Tournament will be held under the aegis of the TATA Steel Professional Golf Tour of India (TATA Steel PGTI) from 22nd to 25th November 2023, at the picturesque Digboi Golf Links.
The prize purse for the event has been raised from INR 75 lakh to INR 80 lakh this year. The Pro-Am event will be held on 26th November.
The event will feature a field of 122 players including 119 professionals and three amateurs. The top 50 players and ties will make the cut after round two.
The IndianOil SERVO Masters has a special place in the history of Indian professional golf as it is the longest running tournament on the Indian domestic circuit and on the PGTI. The tournament is well-established as North-East India’s premier professional golf event in terms of the prize money on offer, the strong field it attracts every year, the top-class playing conditions and the high level of competition on display.
The 23rd edition of the event will feature top professionals including TATA Steel PGTI Ranking leader Om Prakash Chouhan, Olympian Udayan Mane, Rahil Gangjee, Sachin Baisoya, Aman Raj, N Thangaraja, Harshjeet Singh Sethie, Jamal Hossain, Gaurav Pratap Singh, Honey Baisoya and Akshay Sharma, to name a few.
The prominent foreign professionals in the field apart from Sri Lanka’s N Thangaraja and Bangladesh’s Jamal Hossain, are Sri Lankans Mithun Perera, Anura Rohana and K Prabagaran, Bangladeshis Badal Hossain and Md Akbar Hossain as well as Nepal’s Sukra Bahadur Rai and Canada’s Sukhraj Singh Gill.
The local challenge is being led by Digboi-based players including professionals Biren Karmakar, Deven Bhumij, Sunil Mura, Dulal Kalowar, Deepraj Chetia and Joykrishan Naidu as well as amateur Alok Barua.
Mr. Debajit Gogoi, ED & Refinery Head, IOCL (AOD) Digboi Refinery, said, “Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Assam Oil Division) Digboi Refinery is all set to host the 23rd edition of the IndianOil SERVO Masters Golf tournament under the aegis of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). Indian Oil SERVO Masters Golf Tournament is the longest-running tournament on the Indian professional circuit. Started in the year 1999, with prize purse of Rs. 7.5 Lakh, now it has spread its stride into the 23rd edition with a prize purse of Rs. 80 Lakh.
“This tournament will be participated by 8 out of 10 top ranked players of India and a total of 126 players from India and abroad, including 8 local players. Promotion of sports has always been at the core of IndianOil’s initiatives and support to Indian professional golf alongside staging of the IndianOil SERVO Masters Golf is an integral part of IOCL’s vision for the growth of sports in India.”

The venue, the picturesque Digboi Golf Links, is a golfer’s delight. The course is a one of its kind in terms of ambience as it is situated among the lush tea estates and thick forest of eastern Assam. The historic Digboi Golf Links is bordered by the Dehing forest reserve on three sides and the magnificent Patkai range of mountains on the fourth. This par-72 course with a yardage of 6329 could also be termed as the best in the north-eastern part of the country due to its magnificent layout.
