Impiger Technologies presents Chennai Open Golf Championship 2022 marks professional golf’s return to Chennai

• Karandeep Kochhar, Aman Raj and over top 100 other professional golfers add to Khalin Joshi’s Chennai challenge • Third edition of event to offer prize purse of Rs. 40 lakh, making its debut at TNGF Golf Course • Cricketers Murali Vijay and Aniruda Srikkanth to participate as amateurs

The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official sanctioning body of professional golf in India, today announced the Impiger Technologies presents Chennai Open Golf Championship 2022 which will be held at the Tamil Nadu Golf Federation (TNGF) golf course from August 23 - 26, 2022. The third edition of the tournament heralds PGTI’s debut at TNGF and its return to Chennai after four years. The event offers a prize purse of Rs. 40 lakh. The Pro-Am event will be held on August 27.

The tournament which will witness participation by 126 golfers including 123 professionals and three amateurs is supported by Presenting Partner Impiger Technologies, Powered by Partner Amrutanjan and Fruitnik Electro+, Co-Partner Gujarat Tourism, Venue Partner TNGF and Associate Partners Brigade Group, Crowne Plaza Chennai, Audi Chennai and Absolut & Ballantines.

The leading Indian professionals in the field include Khalin Joshi (winner on the PGTI last week), Karandeep Kochhar, Manu Gandas, Aman Raj, Shamim Khan as well as the defending champion Mithun Perera of Sri Lanka.

The local challenge consists of Chennai-based professionals Sandeep Syal, C Arul, A Charles Ros, L Selvaraj, Pradyumna Prakash and S Prasanth. The three Chennai-based amateurs in the field are Suman Ranjeet as well as cricketers Murali Vijay and Aniruda Srikkanth.
