Anirban Lahiri shoots opening round 73 to be tied 78th at PGA Championship
Anirban Lahiri settled for an opening round of three-over 73 at the PGA Championship to leave himself in tied 78th position in his first major start in nearly three years at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Lahiri opened his day with a bogey and birdie on the 10th and 11th holes and dropped a bogey on the fourth from the greenside bunker before taking a costly double bogey on the par-5 fifth hole after finding trouble in the greenside bunker.
Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland led the field with a score of five-under 65.
