Kartik Sharma rises to tied second at Blue Canyon Classic, Udayan Mane is tied sixth

Kartik Sharma (66-67) carded a four-under 67 to rise six positions to tied second at nine-under 133 after the second round of the Blue Canyon Classic on the Asian Development Tour (ADT).

Kartik was just one shot behind the leader, 18-year-old local lad Denwit Boriboonsub, at the Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket, Thailand.

Sharma, in search of his maiden title, shares the second spot with Malaysia’s Shahriffuddin Ariffin, Thai golfer Witchayapat Sinsrang and Swede Filip Lundell.

Udayan Mane (63-71), the first-round leader, returned an even-par 71 on Saturday to move his score to eight-under 134 and stay in the mix for what may shape out as a multi-player shootout for the title.

As many as 35 players are within five strokes of Boriboonsub.

Elsewhere at the Asian Tour's Asia Pacific Open Golf Championship Diamond Cup being played in Ibaraki, Japan, Ajeetesh Sandhu (70-69-69) fired a one-under 69 to close the third round in tied 11th position at two-under 208, five shots behind the lead.
