Shubhankar Sharma posts season-best tied eighth at European Tour's Made in HimmerLand after determined final round of 67
Shubhankar Sharma (70-69-65-67) posted a determined four-under-67 in round four of the Made in HimmerLand to secure his season-best finish of tied eighth on the European Tour.
Shubhankar, who was overnight tied 10th, ended the week with a total of 13-under-271. It was a second straight bogey-free round for Sharma who had a late surge on Sunday with all his four birdies coming on the back-nine, three of them on the last four holes.
The tournament was won by Austria's Bernd Wiesberger who totaled 21-under-263 for the week.
Shubhankar has now risen 27 spots from 126th to 99th place in the European Tour's Race to Dubai standings.
He is likely to make big gains in the Official World Golf Ranking from his current 440th position when the updated rankings are released on Monday.
The top-10 Race to Dubai points earners (not otherwise exempt) from three events - Betfred British Masters, Made in HimmerLand & Porsche European Open (next week) - will earn a place at next month's US Open, the third Major of the year.
Shubhankar Sharma is currently tied 16th in the US Open qualifying race having accumulated 82.3 Race to Dubai points from the first two of the three above mentioned events.
