PGTI Stats – 2019

While Rashid Khan won the 2019 TATA Steel PGTI Order of Merit, there were other players too who made a big impression during the 2019 season. If one goes by the stats of the 2019 season, the other names who made a major impact included 2019 PGTI Emerging Player of the Year Kshitij Naveed Kaul, Udayan Mane, Chikkarangappa, Mukesh Kumar, Yashas Chandra MS and N Thangaraja. It was a fascinating season that witnessed quite a few record feats and featured five first time winners and three playoffs.


Here’s a look at some of the stats from the 2019 TATA Steel PGTI season:

 

Most Tournament Wins: Rashid Khan, Chikkarangappa and Udayan Mane had 2 wins each.

3.    Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational 2019 presented by TAKE Solutions – Ajeetesh Sandhu beat Rashid Khan on the 4th hole

 

PGTI Records:

20 Titles for Mukesh Kumar: Mukesh Kumar won a record 20th title on the PGTI when he triumphed at the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship Presented by Panchkula Golf Club 2019. The 54-year-old Mukesh, also the oldest winner on the PGTI, has more titles than anyone else on the tour and has five more than his nearest rival Shamim Khan who has won 15 so far.

Highest earnings in a PGTI season: Rashid Khan’s 2019 prize money earnings of Rs. 66,27,650, were the highest ever achieved in a PGTI season. 

Lowest Winning Score: Udayan Mane’s 26-under-262 at the TATA Steel Tour Championship 2019 set a new record for the lowest winning score on the PGTI.

Best Playoff Record on PGTI: Chikkarangappa’s win at the Delhi-NCR Open 2019 kept his hundred per cent playoff record intact on the PGTI as he has now won all of his five playoff encounters on the tour. Chikka continues to have the best playoff record on the PGTI.

Three Eagles in a Round: Yashas Chandra MS and Honey Baisoya joined the elite company of Ali Sher and Veer Ahlawat as the only four players to make three eagles in a single round on the PGTI.

Yashas Chandra MS achieved the feat in Round 1 of the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship Presented by Panchkula Golf Club 2019 while Honey Baisoya achieved it in Round 2 of the TATA Steel Tour Championship 2019. However, Chandra’s three eagle-twos in Panchkula was a first on the PGTI.

Poona Club Golf Course: Eight-under-63 by Kapil Kumar and Samarth Dwivedi at Pune Open 2019 (course record equalled)

Chandigarh Golf Club: Eight-under-64 by Sudhir Sharma at TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship Presented by Chandigarh Golf Club 2019 and by Rashid Khan and Abhijit Singh Chadha at Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational 2019 presented by TAKE Solutions

Bhatiary Golf & Country Club, Chittagong: 24-under-264 by Rashid Khan at City Bank American Express Chittagong Open 2019
