Shamim Khan enjoys one-shot lead going into the final round
Harendra Gupta fires ace en route to day's best score, climbs to tied third
India’s Shamim Khan (70-66-69) returned a three-under-69 to emerge as the round three leader at the BTI International being played at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka. Shamim’s three-day total now stands at 11-under-205. Md Sayum (67-71-68) of Bangladesh is one stroke behind the leader in second position.
Shamim, the overnight joint leader, posted a 69 in round three that featured five birdies and two bogeys. The 35-year-old reigning Rolex Rankings champion, who currently enjoys a one-stroke lead at the top, is now staring at his 10th professional title.
Harendra Gupta (71-69-67) is the next highest-placed Indian in tied third place at nine-under-207. Gupta climbed from overnight tied eighth to joint third after shooting the day’s best round of 67 that included a hole-in-one on the eighth, six birdies and three bogeys. Harendra made five birdies in a row from the 11th through the 15th.
Ranjit Singh (68-68-72) of India lies in tied seventh at eight-under-208.
Raju Ali Mollah (69-69-71) is the fourth Indian in the top-10. Raju is placed eighth at seven-under-209.
Among the other Indians in the field, Feroz Ali Mollah occupies 13th place at three-under-213 and Deepinder Singh Kullar is in tied 26th place at eight-over-224.
