Lahiri slips further after a forgettable 76 in round three
Anirban Lahiri had a day to forget after ending round three with a five-over-76 at the PGA Championship on Saturday.
The 2015 Asian Tour number one traded three birdies, four bogeys and two disappointing double bogeys after struggling with a cold putter at the Quail Hollow Club. Lahiri is currently tied for 68th place with a total of eight-over-221.
The lead was held by American Kevin Kisner at seven-under-206.
Lahiri said, “I would be putting things mildly if I said I was disappointed. It was one of those days, when nothing went my way. And to think it happened on a day when I hit the ball off the tee so well. I think I hit it the best this season and it was on this day that putting and chipping let me down.”
On his plan for the final day, he said, “On Sunday I will try and repair as much damage as I can and hopefully create some momentum to carry me through the next three weeks that I will be playing through Wyndham and the first two weeks of FedExCup play-offs.”
