Chawrasia starts well at Nordea Masters
India's SSP Chawrasia began his campaign at the European Tour's Nordea Masters in Sweden with a solid effort of two-under-71 to lie tied eighth.
Chawrasia, the reigning Indian Open champion, struck five birdies and three bogeys in his opening round to trail the joint leaders, Max Orrin of England and Renato Paratore of Italy, by three shots.
The four-time European Tour winner was even-par through the front-nine but fared better on the back-nine with a two-under.
Elsewhere, at The Memorial Tournament, a PGA Tour event being played in Dublin, Ohio, Anirban Lahiri posted a two-over-74 in round one to be tied 63rd.
