Jeev, Chiragh, Shiv best placed Indians after round one in Perth
The Indian trio of Jeev Milkha Singh, Chiragh Kumar and Shiv Kapur carded scores of two-under-70 to be placed tied 43rd in round one of the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth.
Australia’s Brett Rumford and England’s Mark Foster made their early moves when they fired matching six-under-66s to grab the first round lead at the AUD$1.75 million event which is tri-sanctioned by the European Tour, Asian Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia.
Golf history will be made at the Lake Karrinyup Country Club with the introduction of a novel format which sees the top 24 players after 54 holes making it through to a six-hole match play format this week.
While Jeev and Chiragh made three birdies and a bogey each on Thursday, Shiv came up with six birdies and four bogeys.
Jyoti Randhawa, SSP Chawrasia and Chikkarangappa were in tied 56th with identical scores of 71.
Gaganjeet Bhullar (72) was a further shot back in tied 80th place.
Rahil Gangjee’s 75 placed him tied 128th.
