Shubhankar Sharma in second place at halfway stage of Bangladesh Open

Four Indians in the top-10

Overnight co-leader Shubhankar Sharma (64-68) of India slipped to second place following a three-under-68 in round two of the Asian Tour’s Bashundhara Bangladesh Open.

However, the 20-year-old took consolation that he achieved his two-day target of 10-under-132 which allowed him to keep up the chase for a breakthrough win in the tournament where he finished third last year.

Sharma, whose last five rounds on the Asian Tour have all been in the 60s, made five birdies and two bogeys in round two. He trails the leader Jazz Janewattananond of Thailand by one stroke.

Chiragh Kumar (68-70) dropped from fifth to tied seventh after his 70 in the second round. His total read four-under-138.

Khalin Joshi (69-70) and Udayan Mane (71-68) were both in tied ninth at three-under-139 thus making it four Indians in the top-10.

Rashid Khan fired a second round 67 to move up from tied 50th to tied 18th at two-under-140.

The other Indians who made the halfway cut of three-over-145 were Sujjan Singh and Honey Baisoya (both tied 36th at one-over-143), Jeev Milkha Singh and Mukesh Kumar (both tied 50th at two-over-144) and M Dharma (tied 64th at three-over-145).
