Rashid Khan climbs to tied 25th in round three of European Masters

Rashid Khan (73-65-67) made significant gains for the second successive day at the European Masters in Switzerland as his third round score of three-under-67 helped him climb from overnight tied 39th to tied 25th.

Khan totaled five-under-205 after the penultimate round, to trail the leader, Scott Hend of Australia, by eight shots.

Rashid, a two-time winner on the Asian Tour, had earlier posted a 65 in round two, to negate his ordinary first round effort of 73 at the European Tour & Asian Tour joint-sanctioned event.

Khan began with two early bogeys on the first and third on Saturday but soon pulled it back with three birdies between the seventh and the 10th.

He dropped another shot on the 11th but followed that up with three more birdies to end the day on a positive note.

Arjun Atwal (71-69-69), the other Indian in the fray, also moved up 12 places to tied 53rd after his third round of 69. His total read at one-under-209.
