Jeev's first round 66 places him tied eighth in Denmark

Jeev Milkha Singh made a cracking start to the European Tour's Made in Denmark event as he carded an opening round of five-under-66 to be tied eighth.

Jeev mixed six birdies with a bogey to lie four behind the joint leaders Englishman Tom Lewis, Swede Joakim Lagergren and Belgian Thomas Pieters.

Singh, a four-time winner on the European Tour, began the tournament in style with three birdies on the first four holes. He then dropped his only bogey of the day on the fifth before picking up three more strokes on the eighth, 11th and 15th.

Among the other Indians, SSP Chawrasia, who represented India at the Olympics two weeks back, returned an even-par-71 to be tied 73rd while Shiv Kapur scored a four-over-75 to be tied 131st.
