Chiragh Kumar lies tied 28th at Lyoness Open
Chiragh Kumar fired a one-under-71 in the opening round of the European Tour's Lyoness Open to lie tied 28th, seven shots off the lead.
Chiragh, a winner on the Asian Tour last year, made three birdies against two bogeys on the opening day to be the best performing Indian.
Among the other Indians, Jeev Milkha Singh's 74 placed him tied 75th while Himmat Rai (75) was tied 87th and Shiv Kapur (76) was tied 107th.
At the PGA Tour's FedEx St. Jude Classic being played in Memphis, Arjun Atwal shot an opening round of two-over-72 to be tied 91st.
