IndianOil SERVO Masters Golf returns for its 19th edition

Prize money raised to Rs. 45 lakhs

Top names in the field include former champions Shamim Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Shankar Das, Kunal Bhasin and Harendra Gupta, as well as reknowned Sri Lankan golfers Mithun Perera and N Thangaraja  
 
 
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Assam Oil Division) Digboi will be hosting the 19th edition of IndianOil SERVO Masters Golf Tournament. This premier Golf Tournament will be executed through the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) from 21st to 25th November 2018, at the magnificent Digboi Golf Links.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited has announced a Prize purse of Rs.45 lakhs for the professional event. This is the third year in succession that the prize money has been raised. The Pro-Am event will be held on 25th November.

The field will feature a total of 99 players including 97 professionals and two amateurs. The top 50 players and ties will make the cut after round two. 

The field will feature top professionals such as defending and two-time champion Shamim Khan, six-time champion Mukesh Kumar, three-time champion Shankar Das as well as former winners Kunal Bhasin and Harendra Gupta. The other names to watch out for would be Akshay Sharma, M Dharma, Amardip Malik and last year’s runner-up Veer Ahlawat.

Besides Australian Kunal Bhasin, the 2013 champion, the foreign challenge would be led by Sri Lankans N Thangaraja and Mithun Perera.

The local professionals in the field are Dulal Kalwar, Deben Bhumij, Biren Karmakar, Sunil Mura, Jai Kishan Naidu and Deepraj Chetia while the only local amateur in the field is Jakir Hussain.

The venue, the picturesque Digboi Golf Links, is a golfer’s delight. The course is a one of its kind in terms of ambience as it is situated among the lush tea estates and thick forest of eastern Assam. The historic Digboi Golf Links is bordered by the Dehing forest reserve on three sides and the magnificent Patkai range of mountains on the fourth. This 72 par course with a yardage of 6329 could also be termed as the best in the north-eastern part of the country due to its magnificent layout.
