Shiv Kapur closed round 3 of the US Open in tied 23rd place, 12 shots off the lead. Kapur, the highest-placed Asian in the field, on course to achieve best-ever result by an Indian at the US Open.
Shiv Kapur became the second Indian after Jeev Milkha Singh to make the cut at the US Open after an even-par-70 in round 2. He was placed tied 33rd at three-over-143.
Shiv Kapur qualified for his maiden US Open after finishing tied fifth in the International Sectional Qualifier in England; He is now set to make his third Major appearance at the 2014 US Open
Anirban Lahiri climbed from 67 to 65 in the world rankings after his tied sixth finish at The Championship in Singapore, he continues to lead the Asian Tour Order of Merit
