Lahiri halves his match against Rose, crashes out of WGC Match Play

Anirban Lahiri's hopes of progressing into the knock-out rounds of the WGC-Dell Match Play were dashed when he halved his second match of the tournament against Justin Rose of England on Thursday.

Lahiri, last year's Asian Tour number one, was leading two-up against Rose in a match he needed to win to stay alive in the competition but the world number eight rallied late by winning the final two holes with birdies for the halve.

Following the opening day loss to Matt Kuchar, Lahiri will now be out of the running to progress into the round of 16. He will play for pride in his final group match on Friday against Argentinian Fabian Gomez.
