Lahiri shoots four-under to move up to tied 28th in the US

Bhullar lies tied 18th in Malaysia

India's Anirban Lahiri made a gain of 47 places on the leaderboard on day two of the PGA Tour's Northern Trust Open thanks to his round of four-under-67. Lahiri was placed tied 28th at the halfway stage at three-under-139. Anirban trailed the leader Jason Kokrak of the United States by seven shots.

Lahiri sank an eagle, four birdies and two bogeys during his second round which saw him make some long putts on the back-nine.

Elsewhere, at the European Tour and Asian Tour joint sanctioned Maybank Championship, Gaganjeet Bhullar was the best placed Indian in tied 18th place after his second round of even-par-71. His total of four-under-138 meant that he trailed the leader, Nathan Holman of Australia, by nine strokes. He slipped two positions from his overnight tied 16th.

Rahil Gangjee, the only other Indian to make the cut, was tied 39th at two-under-140 as a result of his second round of one-over-72.

The Indians who missed the cut of one-under-141 were, SSP Chawrasia (144), Jeev Milkha Singh (145), Chiragh Kumar (146), Rashid Khan (146), Himmat Rai (147), Arjun Atwal (147) and Shiv Kapur (152).
